Meditation in Motion

~ You are the Gift ~ Your Presence is the Offering ~

“fall in love with your body, liberate your mind and open to the medicine within you”

CONNECT - MOVE - BREATHE - EXPRESS - LISTEN

A movement stillness meditation that not only relaxes the mind but also connects you to the innate wisdom of your body and allows you to step into the peace that comes with full expression.

Meditation in Motion is where meditation becomes part of your life. A way to access that centre of inner stillness and peace in the middle of the movement of your life by combining dance and meditation.

Spaces tailored to your needs & curiosities to dance between listening and expression, awaken your inner wisdom and open room for you to receive your own medicine through free form movement.

Offered both as group and 1:1 sessions Meditation in Motion follows the principles of DANCEmandala, a transformational movement-stillness meditation practice developed by Areeradh K. Tri-siddha at The Yoga Tree Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Deeply anchored in the body this practice, allows you to not only move through but  with your thoughts and emotions and to unclench stories that are locked in your body.

Supported by music and gentle guidance this is an opportunity for you to journey inwards and follow your body into authentic self-expression.  DANCEmandala is a practice of mindfulness and awareness connecting body, mind, heart and spirit. It offers you the space to listen to your body and find your way to follow your intuition and curiosity into movement in the ways that feel right for you. A space of self-exploration free of judgment and expectations.

So often it is all about the destination, the next thing, getting somewhere, when really being here, bringing our full presence to each step, each moment is where the power truly lies. But how do we do that in the midst of the swirling tides of our lives?

For me it was not about the big shift, this big task I had to do. That would have felt overwhelming to my nervous system. To me it was the tiny incremental elements incorporated in my everyday life that built a fundamental trust in myself and the choices I make.

Anchored in a relationship with ourselves that feels nourishing and supportive. Where self-love is not just lip service but an embodied and lived everyday experience.

It starts with allowing myself to start where I am, cultivating a deep felt sense of: I am enough exactly as I am right now. That in my experience was what made the changes that I created both nourishing and sustainable. Not trying to be someone else, be who you are in this moment, and let that be enough. Know that is the nourishing soil for anything you would like to grow in your life.

I feel if we maintain a sense of movement in the stillness, and stillness in the movement and we are able to experience the stillness in the movement we create a readiness in our bodies, ourselves and ultimately our lives that is quite unmatched and that allows for a flow and an alignment that can happen to actually show up to our lives in every way with so much more ease and empowerment and joy.

So meditation becomes part of life. We can’t always in a zen state but this inner peace remains accessible, so I can choose to tap into that at any point, I know how I can get there.

Moving stillness meditation it is a way to find that centre of inner stillness in the middle of the movement of life. So it is a practice for me to bring that stillness into the everyday ness of life, into the movement of life, so I can access that stillness within whenever I want to. So there is an element of choice and a freedom in that, so I don’t need to create a special environment all the time, incapsulate myself, shut myself away to access it, instead it is cultivating an inner space that allows me to bring up and tap into that place of inner stillness in the middle of movement. And that is very powerful to me.

For me it is not either sitting stillness meditation OR movement meditation, they don’t cancel each other out, in fact they compliment each other really well. So stillness meditation is always a part of the movement meditation. They can exist in the same space, the same life, the same experience. I do both. It is just a different flavour.

It is sharpening my awareness that meditation is nothing that stands next to the rest of my life, that is separate from everything else

movement stillness mediation allows for integration to be part of the process, to embody the wisdom, the insights, the rest, whatever it is, and makes it easier to carry it into our lives

So what I feel moving stillness meditation does, it allows us to put ourselves on the dance floor of our lives again and gives us a choice. Even within the choices we have already made and the way we have set up our lives there is a moment of the possibility of us showing up and shaping what is happening and I feel a lot of the time we are taking that away from ourselves just simply by not feeling we have the capacity or the skills to do that a lot of the time if we stay in a state of survival, which is so understandable but this for me is an opening and an opportunity and its a power I see int hat, that it brings back a sense of sovereignty and a sense of freedom of choice and it opens a door into thriving.

This is for you:

If you have struggled with sitting stillness meditation but still long to make meditation part of your life experience

My Experience

I still remember the first time I came to a DANCEmandala session. The freedom to move in whichever way felt good to me and the space that suddenly opened up to listen to myself took my breath away I was captivated how there was so much room for freedom to find my own way into moving my body in a space that was so well-held, so safe, so supported. I was fascinated by the invitation to close my eyes, to move inwards while expressing myself outwardly at the same time, being aware of the fact that I was witnessed without this being a hindrance but rather a support and allowing myself to follow my own pathways of movement. DANCEmandala connected me to the same space of understanding, knowing and creativity that I so far had only ventured in through my writing. I was thrilled to have found another way of accessing this deep space of listening and expressing.

This was six years ago. Since then the transformative journey of the DANCEmandala practice has taken me to so many places inside and outside. I have built true connections through it with myself and others and have explored writing in a new way
